D.O.B: 25/12/1988 (yes, Christmas baby, and no, it isn’t horrible because I don’t know any better)
I’m currently studying at Bournemouth University for a BA (Hons) degree in Communication and Media. It’s a course that requires creativity and professionalism amongst other things, and here on my blog you will find examples of both my creative and professional work. I’ve also chucked in some pieces that I’ve done to simply let off some creative steam or voice my opinions.
My aim (and dream) is to become a published author. I’ve always been a book worm since I was very little and it didn’t take long until the love for reading transformed into a love for writing. I’d also love to work for magazines or publishing houses, anything that can teach me more about the profession of writing and prepare me for attempting to get my work published.
I’m currently working on a couple of ideas for novels, taking inspiration from chick-lit authors such as Marianne Keyes, Anna Maxted and Catherine Alliot, as well as some darker novelists like Ian Banks or Stieg Larsson. As they progress I will be posting some extracts of my developing ideas on here and would really appreciate constructive feedback.
Like most girls my age I’m also very concerned with fashion! I spend alot of time reading magzines like Grazia and Vogue, and oggling at clothes on the internet that I wish I could afford.
Over summer this year I am going to be creating a small magazine for an orthodontic company that I worked for in my gap year. It’s an opportunity that I hope will teach me a lot and I’m sure I am really going to enjoy.
